Developed by SEGA Enterprises and released in 1989, The Revenge of Shinobi is a defining Sega Genesis action platformer. You play as Joe Musashi, a skilled ninja fighting his way through the Neo Zeed criminal syndicate to rescue his kidnapped bride. The game demands methodical pacing rather than rushing, forcing players to manage a limited shuriken supply and rely on close-range katana strikes. How to play
Navigate each stage carefully, eliminating syndicate members and preserving your health for the challenging boss encounters. You can activate one of four Ninjutsu magic abilities per level to clear the screen or shield yourself from damage.

Tips
- To perform the double jump, press jump a second time at the exact apex of your first jump. Attacking during a double jump unleashes a powerful eight-shuriken spread.
- The Mijin (Exploding) Ninjutsu costs a life but deals massive damage to bosses. Since it restores your health on your next life, it is best used when you are one hit away from dying anyway.
- Grab the POW icon to upgrade your melee attacks to a flaming sword and increase your shuriken damage, but be carefulโtaking any damage will revert you to your standard weapons.
