The Percussor is a 1981 arcade shoot-’em-up developed by Orca that blends fixed-screen shooting with scrolling segments. As a spaceship pilot, your primary objective is to systematically destroy enemy bases while managing your fuel supply. The challenge ramps up as you face waves of UFOs, helicopters, and heat-seeking missiles, alongside ground-based defenses that actively return fire.

How to Play

Use the Arrow keys to move your ship in eight directions and press Z or X to fire your weapons. Your main goal is to clear the enemy bases in each stage while avoiding incoming fire and managing your limited fuel. Be on the lookout for enemy repair planes—they can fly across the screen and restore damaged bases or missile shields, undoing your progress.

Tips

• Prioritize destroying repair planes as soon as they appear to prevent them from undoing your attacks on enemy bases.
• Keep a constant eye on your fuel gauge; plan your movements to avoid running out before clearing the stage.
• You earn an extra ship at 20,000 points and every 100,000 points thereafter, so scoring efficiently gives you a much-needed safety net.
