Game description:

Tetris on the Game Boy is the definitive 1989 puzzle game that cemented the handheld’s success. Originally designed by Alexey Pajitnov and brought to the system by Nintendo, this iconic falling-block puzzler demands quick reflexes and spatial awareness to clear lines before the screen fills up.

How to Play

Guide the falling tetrominos to form solid horizontal lines across the well, which clears them and earns points. As your line count increases, the pieces fall progressively faster. Play using the browser controls mapped for the Game Boy: move pieces with the arrow keys, rotate them using Z and X, and press Enter or Shift for Start and Select.

Tips

  • Keep the well as flat as possible, avoiding jagged towers that restrict where new pieces can be placed.
  • Always leave a single open column on either the far left or right side to score a four-line “Tetris” when a long straight piece appears.
  • Watch the preview box to plan your next move before the current piece has landed.
