Super Street Fighter II Turbo is a definitive 1994 arcade fighting game developed by Capcom. Building upon previous iterations, this release introduced several mechanics that became foundational to the fighting game genre, most notably the addition of powerful Super Combos and the ability to adjust the game speed. It also marks the very first appearance of the legendary hidden boss character, Akuma.
How to Play
Select your fighter from the diverse roster of world warriors and battle through a series of one-on-one matches to reach the final boss. Because this is an arcade release, you will need to insert virtual coins (usually mapped to the Shift key) and press Enter to start. Use the arrow keys to move, jump, and crouch, and use your keyboard’s action keys (typically Z, X, C for punches and A, S, D for kicks) to execute attacks and special moves.
Tips
- Build your Super Combo gauge at the bottom of the screen by performing attacks and special moves. Once it is completely filled, you can unleash a devastating Super Combo unique to your character.
- You can recover in mid-air (often called “teching”) after an opponent throws you by quickly inputting a throw command of your own, which significantly reduces the damage taken.
