Super Ranger (also known as Rough Ranger) is a side-scrolling run-and-gun arcade game released by SunA in 1988. Often compared to Rolling Thunder, this classic platform-shooter has you navigating military-themed levels to rescue hostages. Unlike its famous inspiration, Super Ranger supports simultaneous two-player gameplay, letting you and a friend tackle the enemy forces together.
How to Play
Your objective is to traverse enemy bases, take out guards, and ultimately rescue the hostage waiting at the end of the mission. For the typical browser-based arcade setup, use your Arrow keys to move and aim, while Z and X handle your shooting and jumping. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Watch your ammo: Like many tactical shooters of the era, you don’t have unlimited bullets. Pick up ammunition drops to keep your weapons loaded.
- Use high and low cover: Enemies will attack from multiple elevations. Make use of crouching and different platforms to dodge incoming fire and take safe shots.
