Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo is a classic competitive puzzle game released by Capcom for arcades in 1996. It takes the beloved characters from the Street Fighter and Darkstalkers universes, renders them in a charming “super deformed” art style, and pits them against each other in intense, gem-matching battles.
How to Play
Your objective is to defeat your opponent by filling their screen with garbage blocks. You do this by arranging falling gems into large groups of the same color and then shattering them using a circular “Crash Gem” of a matching color. The larger the chain reaction of shattered gems, the more garbage you drop on your rival.
Controls: Use the Arrow Keys to move the falling gems left or right, and the Down arrow to drop them faster. Use the Z and X keys to rotate the gems counter-clockwise and clockwise.
Tips
- Build Power Gems: Arrange blocks of the same color into squares or rectangles (2×2 or larger). They merge into a single Power Gem, which drops significantly more garbage when broken.
- Set up Chain Reactions: Don’t just break gems immediately. Stack them so that breaking one group causes the remaining gems to fall and instantly break another group. These combos are the key to overwhelming your opponent.
