Super League is a baseball simulation released by Sega in 1989 for the Sega Genesis. Originally serving as a launch title in Japan and later rebranded in North America as Tommy Lasorda Baseball, this European release brings the same arcade-style sports action to the 16-bit console. The game features a 30-game season mode, exhibition matches, and password saves to track your progress through the pennant race.
How to Play
The game uses the standard Sega Genesis controller setup: the D-pad to aim pitches or position your batter, and the A, B, and C buttons to swing, pitch, and throw to bases (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys, plus Z, X, and C respectively). Start is mapped to the Enter key. In the field, you must manually run to the ball to catch or field it, as there is no auto-fielding assist.
Tips
- Watch the shadow of the ball when batting; it helps you judge the pitch’s depth and timing before you commit to a full swing.
- When pitching, you can alter the trajectory of the ball mid-flight using the D-pad to curve it and throw off the batter’s timing.
