Super Hang-On is the acclaimed 1989 Sega Genesis port of the hit arcade motorcycle racing game developed by Sega. As the sequel to the original Hang-On, this classic revs up the action with breakneck speeds and challenging tracks across four continents. Players can experience the straightforward, adrenaline-fueled Arcade Mode, or dive into the deeper Original Mode, where you manage your career, hire mechanics, upgrade your bike’s components, and race against rival riders to climb the ranks.
How to Play
The objective is to beat the clock by passing checkpoints before the timer runs out. Use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to steer your motorcycle and lean into corners. Press the B button (X key) to accelerate and the A button (Z key) to brake. When your bike reaches 280 km/h, press the C button (C key) to activate the turbo boost for incredible top speeds, but be careful not to crash!
Tips
- Save your turbo boost for straightaways. Using it on tight corners makes the bike extremely difficult to steer and drastically increases the chance of wiping out.
- In Original Mode, prioritize upgrading your frame and tires early on to improve handling, as raw engine power is difficult to control without a solid foundation.
- Memorize the track layouts. Knowing when to ease off the throttle instead of braking will shave valuable seconds off your time and help you clear tight checkpoints.
