Super Aoki Ookami to Shiroki Mejika – Genchou Hishi is a historical grand strategy game released for the Super Famicom (SNES) in 1993. Developed by Koei and known in the West as Genghis Khan II: Clan of the Gray Wolf, it allows players to step into the role of historical figures from the 12th and 13th centuries. The game focuses on managing economics, diplomacy, and military campaigns in a bid to build a massive empire across Eurasia.
How to Play
Your main objective is to conquer rival territories and unify the world map under your rule. The gameplay is split between managing domestic affairsโsuch as trade, agriculture, and diplomacyโand engaging in tactical, turn-based battles. By default in the browser, the SNES controls are mapped to your keyboard: use the arrow keys for the D-pad, Z and X for the A and B buttons, and Enter and Shift for Start and Select.
Tips
- Rely on family: Building a lineage is a distinct mechanic in this game. Marrying and having heirs ensures you have fiercely loyal family members to govern your expanding territories without the risk of rebellion.
- Balance your economy: Before embarking on major conquests, ensure your territories have strong agriculture and trade. Fielding large armies requires a constant supply of resources and food.
