Continuing the interactive anime experience, Super Adventure Rockman (Japan) (Disc 2) was released by Capcom in 1998 for the PlayStation. This second episode drops players deeper into the Lanfront Ruins as Mega Man uncovers the secrets of the ancient supercomputer Ra Moon. Blending full-motion video cutscenes with fast-paced rail shooter segments, the game challenges you to guide Rock through crucial story choices and intense first-person combat against revived Robot Masters from his past.
How to Play
The game relies heavily on your reflexes during both cutscenes and combat. When on-screen directional arrows appear during cinematic sequences, quickly press the corresponding D-pad direction to dodge incoming attacks. During the first-person shooter battles, use the D-pad to move your targeting reticle and press the action buttons to fire your Buster at enemies and projectiles. Use the standard PlayStation controls: the D-pad (mapped to your keyboard’s arrow keys) for aiming and dodging, and the Cross and Circle buttons (mapped to Z and X) for shooting and confirming choices. Start and Select are mapped to Enter and Shift.
Tips
If you start a new game directly from Disc 2 instead of continuing a save file from the first disc, you won’t carry over any previously earned special weapons or health upgrades, making the battles significantly harder. During first-person combat, prioritize shooting down incoming enemy projectiles before focusing your fire on the Robot Masters to minimize the damage you take.
