Strider Hiryuu is a fast-paced cinematic action-platformer released for the Sega Genesis in 1990. Playing as the acrobatic ninja Hiryu, you must infiltrate the dystopian metropolis of Kazakh City to assassinate the dictator Grandmaster Meio. Armed with a blazing plasma sword known as the Cypher, players can climb walls, swing from ceilings, and slide under enemies in a fluid arcade experience.
How to Play
Your objective is to navigate multi-directional levels and defeat the boss at the end of each stage. Hiryu can jump, attack, and cling to almost any surface.
- Move / Climb: Arrow Keys
- Attack: Z
- Jump: X
- Slide: Down + Jump (X)
- Start / Pause: Enter
Tips
- Spam the Attack: The Cypher has no cooldown. Rapidly pressing the attack button lets you carve through enemies and bosses quickly.
- Utilize the Slide: Sliding not only gets you under low obstacles but also acts as an attack that damages smaller enemies.
- Collect robotic backups: Look for power-ups like the Dipodal Saucer and Robo-Panther, which provide crucial extra firepower during tough boss encounters.
