Game description:

Streets of Rage 3 is a classic side-scrolling beat ’em up released by Sega in 1994 for the Sega Genesis. In this final chapter of the original trilogy, returning heroes Axel, Blaze, and Skate are joined by the cyborg Dr. Zan to dismantle Mr. X’s Syndicate and their new army of robots. Known for its faster, deeper combat system, branching story paths, and a pounding electronic soundtrack, it remains one of the definitive action titles of the 16-bit era.

How to Play

Battle through waves of enemies by moving across the screen and chaining attacks together. Use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to move, A (Z) for your special attack, B (X) for standard punches and kicks, and C (C) to jump. Double-tap left or right to run, and press A while running for a powerful dash attack. Your special attack drains a small amount of health unless the power meter at the top of the screen is completely full.

Tips

  • Pick up food hidden in breakable objects like crates and barrels to survive longerโ€”apples provide a small heal, while chickens restore your health entirely.
  • Master the vertical dodge by quickly tapping up or down twice to step out of the path of incoming attacks, which is especially useful during boss fights.
  • Take advantage of Dr. Zan’s unique trait: instead of swinging weapons like pipes or swords, he converts them into balls of energy that can be thrown from a safe distance.
