Game description:

Street Fighter Zero 2 (released internationally as Street Fighter Alpha 2) is a classic 2D fighting game developed by Capcom for the PlayStation in 1996. Building upon its predecessor, the game refines the fast-paced combat system with an expanded roster of martial artistsโ€”including newcomers like Sakura and Rolentoโ€”alongside detailed, vibrant stages. It remains one of the most mechanically tight and beloved entries in the long-running series.

How to Play

The objective is to deplete your opponent’s health bar in a best-of-three match using normal strikes, special moves, and throws. Use the D-pad to move, crouch, jump, and block (by holding away from your opponent). The game utilizes a six-button attack layout: the PlayStation’s face and shoulder buttons handle your light, medium, and heavy punches and kicks.

Tips

  • Master the Custom Combo: By pressing two punch buttons and one kick button (or vice versa) simultaneously when your super gauge is at Level 1 or higher, you activate a Custom Combo. This allows you to rapidly chain together normal and special attacks that wouldn’t normally link.
  • Use Alpha Counters: While blocking an attack, push the D-pad from away to down-away and press a punch or kick button to perform an Alpha Counter (Zero Counter). It costs one level of your super meter but immediately breaks your opponent’s offensive pressure.
  • Control the air: Jumping in predictably will get you anti-aired easily. Use characters with strong ground games to poke and control space, forcing the opponent to make a risky jump instead.
