Street Fighter Zero 2 (known internationally as Street Fighter Alpha 2) is a 2D competitive fighting game developed by Capcom and released for arcades in 1996. This specific version is the Brazilian arcade release (build 960304). Building heavily upon its predecessor, Zero 2 overhauls the roster by adding newcomers like Sakura alongside returning favorites such as Gen, Rolento, and Zangief. It introduces the Custom Combo system, allowing players to briefly chain together any series of normal and special attacks, significantly deepening the competitive strategy.
How to play
Insert a coin using Shift and press Enter to start. Move and jump using the Arrow keys. As a classic Capcom fighter, it uses a six-button layoutโthree punches and three kicks of varying strengthsโwhich are typically mapped to Z, X, C and A, S, D on your keyboard. Your goal is to drain your opponent’s health bar by landing strikes, throws, and special moves over the best of three rounds.
Tips
- Custom Combos: To activate a Custom Combo, press two punch buttons and one kick button (or vice versa) simultaneously when your super meter is at level 1 or higher. The timer ticks down fast, so stick to rapid, repetitive heavy attacks for reliable damage.
- Alpha Counters: While blocking an opponent’s attack, input a quarter-circle forward and punch or kick (depending on the character) to perform a quick counter-attack at the cost of one super meter level.
- Tech Throws: You can reduce the damage of an opponent’s throw by pressing a heavy punch or kick button just as they grab you.
