Squirrel King is an unlicensed platform game developed by Chuanpu Technology and released for the Sega Genesis in 1995. Heavily inspired by Capcom’s Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers, players control one of two squirrels as they navigate side-scrolling stages, defeat enemies by picking up and throwing crates, and battle bosses.
How to Play
The objective is to clear each stage by making your way to the end and defeating the area boss. You can pick up crates, barrels, and other items to throw at enemies, or stun them by jumping on their heads. Use the D-pad (arrow keys in the browser) to move and duck. Press A or C (Z or C keys) to jump, and press B (X key) to pick up or throw items. Press Start (Enter) to pause the game.
Tips
- If you are carrying an item, you can duck and press the throw button to slide it horizontally across the ground, which is great for taking out smaller enemies.
- Watch out for enemies that shoot projectiles; a well-timed crate throw is your best defense from a distance.
