Spot: The Video Game is a 1990 puzzle-strategy game for the NES featuring the 7 Up mascot. The gameplay is essentially a digital version of the board game Ataxx. You compete against the computer or another player on a 7×7 grid, moving your animated Spot pieces to convert your opponent's pieces and control the board by the end of the match.
How to Play
The goal is to have the most pieces on the board when all spaces are filled. You can either clone your piece to an adjacent square or jump it two squares away. Any opponent pieces adjacent to your landing spot will flip to your color. Use the Arrow Keys to move your cursor, Z or X to select and place pieces, and Enter to start the game.
Tips
Think carefully about whether to clone or jump. Cloning grows your total number of pieces, but jumping leaves your original space empty and vulnerable. Try to secure the corners and edges of the board, as pieces in these positions are much harder for your opponent to flank and capture.
