Originally released for computer systems before arriving on the Super Nintendo in 1994, Spectre is a fast-paced 3D tank combat game heavily inspired by Battlezone. You pilot a futuristic tank across a flat-shaded polygonal arena, tasked with navigating the battlefield to collect scattered flags while surviving assaults from aggressive enemy vehicles.
How to Play
Your objective in each level is to collect all the flashing flags while avoiding or destroying the enemy tanks that hunt you down. Use the arrow keys to steer your tank around the arena, and press Z or X to fire your cannons. Once all flags are collected, you will automatically advance to the next, more difficult arena.
Tips
- Keep your distance: Enemy tanks are deadly up close but their shots are relatively slow. Engage from afar to give yourself plenty of time to dodge incoming fire.
- Prioritize flags over combat: You do not need to destroy every enemy to win. Grabbing the final flag instantly completes the level, so focus on evasive maneuvers when outnumbered.
