Game description:

Space Shadow is a 1989 sci-fi light gun rail shooter developed by Bandai for the Famicom. Originally packed in with the Hyper Shot, a unique sub-machine gun controller with a built-in D-pad, the game sends you to investigate a communications blackout on a distant planetary colony. You explore moody, Aliens-inspired corridor mazes, fending off extraterrestrial lifeforms that attack from side passages and the ceiling.

How to Play

Unlike standard on-rails shooters, you have control over your movement through the corridors. Use the D-pad (arrow keys) to navigate the colony and your weapon (mouse) to aim and shoot alien creatures. You also have access to grenades to clear out tough spots. Keep an eye on your ammunition, health, and a timer as you explore.

Tips

  • Manage your resources: Ammo and grenades are limited. Aim carefully and restock by picking up power-ups dropped by defeated enemies.
  • Photosensitivity warning: Like many early light gun games, this title uses intense full-screen flashing for hit detection.
