Space Harrier 3D is a rail shooter developed by Sega and released for the Sega Master System in 1988. Designed specifically to take advantage of the Sega 3D Glasses, this unique entry in the classic arcade series puts you back in the shoes of the jet-propelled protagonist, Harrier. You will fly through the vividly colored, checkerboard-floored landscapes of the Fantasy Zone, blasting waves of alien creatures and dodging environmental hazards at breakneck speeds.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive each stage by shooting enemies and avoiding incoming fire, trees, and pillars. At the end of each stage, you will face a large boss. On a standard keyboard, use the Arrow Keys to move Harrier around the screen, and press Z or X to fire your laser.
Tips
- Keep moving: Never stay in one place for too long. Constantly moving in circular or figure-eight patterns makes it much harder for enemies to hit you.
- Focus on dodging: While shooting is important, prioritizing evasion over destroying every single enemy will keep you alive longer, especially in later stages.
- Watch for shadows: Both your character and enemies have shadows on the ground. Use them to judge the distance and position of incoming threats and obstacles.
