Sonic Drift is a 1994 kart racing game developed by SEGA for the Game Gear. As the first racing spin-off in the franchise, it features Sonic, Tails, Amy, and Dr. Eggman competing across various themed tracks based on zones from the original games.
How to Play
Select your racer and aim for first place across a series of Grand Prix cups. Collect rings scattered around the track to activate your character's unique special ability, such as a speed boost or dropping obstacles. Steer with the Arrow Keys, use Z and X to accelerate, brake, or use specials, and press Enter to start or pause.
Tips
- Use Specials Wisely: Each special move costs rings. Save them for straightaways if you need a speed boost or narrow sections to guarantee your opponent hits an obstacle.
- Character Stats: Each racer has unique speed and handling attributes. If you are struggling to control your kart, try a character with better cornering like Tails.
- Brake on Corners: The tracks can be tight; tap the brake while turning on sharp corners to avoid sliding into the roadside signs, which drastically reduces your speed.
