Soleil (also known as Crusader of Centy in North America) is an action RPG released for the Sega Genesis in 1994. Developed by Nextech, the game offers a rich top-down adventure similar to The Legend of Zelda, but stands out by having players recruit animal companions for new abilities and featuring a storyline that explores the monsters’ perspective of the world’s conflicts.
How to Play
Your objective as the young hero Corona is to explore the land, conquer dungeons, and communicate with the creatures you meet to understand the true nature of the war between humans and monsters. In the browser, use the Arrow keys to move. Press Z, X, and C for your primary actions like jumping and swinging or throwing your sword, and use Enter to open the menu to manage your equipped companions.
Tips
- You can equip up to two animal companions simultaneously to combine their powers. For example, pairing the cheetah and the dodo allows you to throw your sword faster and control its flight path.
- Because you do not have a defensive shield, mastering the sword throw is critical. Toss your sword from a safe distance and maneuver Corona so the blade hits enemies on its return trip.
