Game description:

Soccer Kid is a unique 1994 platformer for the SNES developed by Krisalis Software that combines traditional jumping mechanics with football-juggling action. After aliens shatter the World Cup trophy and scatter its pieces across the globe, you must guide the titular kid through various countries to recover them, using a soccer ball as your primary tool for attacking and puzzle-solving.

How to play
The objective is to navigate through side-scrolling levels, defeating enemies and collecting the hidden cards needed to reassemble the World Cup. The default browser controls map the SNES D-pad to the Arrow keys, with Z, X, A, and S acting as the face buttons, plus Enter for Start and Shift for Select. You will need to run, jump, and use your ball to perform tricks like headers, volleys, and bicycle kicks to defeat enemies or hit switches.

Tips

  • Master ball control mechanics early; you can stand on the ball to gain extra height for jumps, which is essential for reaching secrets.
  • If you lose your ball, you can often find another one in a nearby bin or wait for one to spawn.
  • Take your time to explore each stage thoroughly, as finding all eleven soccer cards in a country is required to fully complete the area.
