Snow Brothers is an action-platformer released in 1990 by Toaplan Co. for the NES. Players control Nick and Tom, twin snowmen tasked with clearing single-screen stages of enemies to rescue captured princesses. It features fast-paced, arcade-style gameplay that truly shines in its two-player cooperative mode.
How to play
The goal of each stage is to eliminate all enemies before time runs out. Throw snow at enemies to freeze them into solid snowballs, then push the snowballs to send them rolling, knocking out any other enemies in their path. Use the Arrow Keys to move, X to jump, and Z to throw snow. Press Enter for Start and Shift for Select.
Tips
- Try to group enemies together before kicking a snowball; clearing multiple enemies with a single roll drops bonus point items.
- Prioritize collecting colored potion bottles: red increases your walking speed, blue boosts your throwing power, and yellow extends your throwing distance.
- A kicked snowball bounces off walls, so use the level geometry to clear lower platforms safely from above.
