Sly Spy is a classic side-scrolling arcade action game released by Data East in 1989. Heavily inspired by 1960s espionage films, players take on the role of a secret agent tasked with stopping the Council for World Domination (CWD) from taking over the United States. The game combines traditional run-and-gun platforming with vehicle segments, where your agent battles terrorists through Washington D.C. using a pistol, machine guns, and his bare hands when out of ammo.
How to play: Your goal is to reach the end of each stage, defeating CWD henchmen and bosses along the way. In this arcade version, the standard controls map to your keyboard: use the arrow keys to move, Z to shoot or attack, and X to jump. In addition to on-foot sections, some levels involve riding a motorcycle or scuba diving, but the primary objective remains to survive and clear the enemies.
Tips: Ammo for your specialized weapons like the machine gun is limited; when it runs out, your agent relies on close-quarters combat. Try to save your upgraded weapons for tougher enemies and bosses. During the vehicle stages, focus on dodging obstacles just as much as returning fire, as collisions will quickly drain your health.
