Sky Fox (also known as Exerizer) is a classic vertically scrolling shoot ’em up released for arcades by Jaleco in 1987. Serving as a spiritual successor to the earlier arcade hit Exerion, the game challenges players to pilot a starfighter through enemy territory using a distinct inertial movement system. It features pseudo-3D scrolling backgrounds and intense waves of alien adversaries, demanding both precision and strategic shooting.
How to Play
The objective is to survive waves of enemies and defeat challenging bosses. You control your ship’s movement and manage two types of weapons. By default in the browser emulator, use Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. Use the Arrow Keys to move your ship, Z to fire your primary weapon, and X to deploy your secondary weapon.
Tips
- Master the Inertia: Your ship continues to drift after you stop moving. Anticipate your trajectory rather than reacting instantly to avoid enemy fire.
- Ammo Management: Your powerful secondary weapon has limited ammunition. Save it for tougher enemies and boss encounters to maximize your survival chances.
