Show do Milhão is a trivia game developed by Tectoy for the Sega Genesis, released exclusively in Brazil in 2001. Based on the immensely popular Brazilian television game show hosted by Silvio Santos, it challenges players to answer a series of increasingly difficult multiple-choice questions across various subjects to win the virtual prize of one million reais.
How to Play
The objective is to answer 16 questions correctly to reach the million-real prize without making a mistake. You use the D-pad to navigate through the four multiple-choice options and the A, B, or C buttons to lock in your answer (mapped to the Arrow keys and Z/X/C in the browser). If you answer incorrectly, the game ends.
Tips
- The game is entirely in Portuguese and heavily features questions about Brazilian history, geography, and 1990s pop culture, so having a good grasp of those topics is essential.
- Make strategic use of your four “ajudas” (lifelines)—Pulos (Skips), Universitários (College Students), Cartas (Cards), and Placas (Audience Signs)—saving them for the most difficult questions in the later rounds.
- If you are completely unsure of an answer and have no lifelines left, choosing to stop (“Parar”) will let you keep your current winnings rather than losing everything.
