Game description:

Shikinjou is an English-translated version of the 1991 Famicom puzzle game by Toei Animation, bringing together the block-pushing mechanics of Sokoban with the tile-matching logic of Mahjong. You control a Chinese hopping vampire navigating 150 single-screen stages by pushing identical Mahjong tiles together to make them vanish. Your goal is simply to reach the exit, but the tightly designed layouts make finding the right sequence of moves a massive challenge.

How to Play

Use the D-pad (Arrow Keys) to move your character around the board. When you push a standard Mahjong tile into an identical one, they both disappear, opening a path to the exit. You can only push tiles, never pull them. Be careful not to push regular tiles into the immovable obstacle tiles (like dragons or food items), or they will permanently transform into obstacles and block your progress.

Tips

  • Work backwards: Plan your route from the exit to your start point. Often, there is only one correct sequence of moves that clears the path without trapping a crucial tile.
  • Beware of transformations: Accidentally turning a regular tile into an immovable obstacle by pushing them together is the most common way to get stuck.
  • Don’t rush to clear: Sometimes you need to leave a pair unmatched temporarily to set up a future push.
