Released by Nichibutsu in 1986 for the Arcade, Sei Senshi Amatelass (also known internationally as Soldier Girl Amazon) is a vertical-scrolling run-and-gun shooter. You control the warrior Amaterasu as she blasts her way through enemy territory on an island to rescue captive prisoners, mixing traditional on-foot shooting action with vehicular combat.
How to Play
Your objective is to shoot enemies in all directions while advancing up the screen and freeing prisoners along the way. Move Amaterasu using the arrow keys. Attack using the Z and X keys, and press Enter to start or Shift to insert a virtual coin.
Tips
- Keep an eye out for vehicles like the motorcycle and spaceship; boarding them significantly boosts your mobility and firepower while providing an extra layer of defense against enemy attacks.
