Sector Zone is a 1984 arcade scrolling shooter developed by Nichibutsu. Often known by its later console title Seicross, the game puts you in control of a futuristic gliding motorcycle. You must navigate treacherous terrain, bumping enemy riders into obstacles and blasting through defenses while trying to rescue stranded blue creatures called Petits.
How to Play
The objective is to survive the scrolling stages, defeat the Dinosaur Tank bosses, and collect power modules and Petits along the way. Since this is an Arcade release, the standard web controls apply: use the Arrow keys to steer your bike and control your speed, and the Z and X keys to fire your weapon. You can also destroy enemies without shooting by ramming them into the background walls.
Tips
- Use the environment: Bumping enemy bikes into obstacles is often safer and more effective than trying to line up a shot.
- Collect the blue Petits: Rescuing these stranded creatures will grant you bonus points at the end of the stage.
- Watch for the Dinosaur Tanks: When you destroy a boss tank, be preparedโits head will detach and launch directly at you as a final attack.
