Scooby-Doo Mystery is a 1995 point-and-click style adventure game published by Acclaim for the Sega Genesis. Unlike many platformers of the era, this game plays similarly to classic LucasArts titles, having you control Shaggy (accompanied by Scooby) to explore environments, collect items, and solve puzzles across two distinct mysteries: “Blake’s Hotel” and “Ha Ha Carnival”.
How to Play
Your objective is to solve both mysteries by interacting with the environment, talking to characters, and finding clues without letting your Fright Meter get too high. Use the command menu to give instructions like “Look”, “Open”, or “Take”.
- Move Cursor / Walk: Arrow Keys
- Action (Select Command/Item): Z
- Cancel / Close Menu: X
- Open Command Menu: S
- Start/Pause: Enter
Tips
- Check everything: Many essential items are hidden in the background scenery. Use the “Look” command frequently to find clues you might otherwise walk past.
- Manage Scooby Snacks: Keep an eye out for Scooby Snacks scattered around the levels. Eating them will lower your Fright Meter and prevent a game over from getting too scared.
- Experiment with combinations: If you are stuck on a puzzle, try using the items in your inventory with each other, or apply them to different objects in the environment.
