🎮 Play Runark Japan Online (Arcade)

Runark (known internationally as Growl) is a side-scrolling arcade beat ’em up released by Taito in 1990. Set in the early 20th century, you play as a forest ranger on a mission to stop a syndicate of evil animal poachers. As you brawl your way through cities, trains, and caverns, the animals you rescue—such as lions, elephants, and eagles—will often join the fight to help you take down the syndicate.

How to Play

Your objective is to defeat waves of poachers and rescue captive wildlife across each stage. Controls follow standard arcade mappings in the browser: use the Arrow Keys to move, Z and X to attack and jump, and Enter or Shift to insert coins and start. You can also pick up and use a chaotic array of weapons dropped by enemies, from steel pipes to rocket launchers.

Tips for Runark

• Use the wildlife: Prioritize freeing caged animals during a brawl; their temporary help is incredibly effective at clearing out crowded screens.
• Weapon management: Firearms like machine guns have limited ammunition. Once they run empty, you can still use the gun as a thrown weapon.
