Royal Conquest (Japan) is the 1992 Japanese release of the classic Super Nintendo real-time strategy game known in the West as King Arthur’s World. Developed by Argonaut Software and published by Jaleco, this unique side-scrolling strategy title challenges you to command King Arthur and his specialized troops through puzzle-like battlefields.
How to play
The objective is to guide King Arthur safely to the end of each level by deploying different classes of unitsโsuch as archers, engineers, and knightsโto clear obstacles and defeat enemies, similar to Lemmings. The standard SNES controls map the D-pad to your arrow keys for cursor movement, while the A, B, X, and Y action buttons are mapped to X, Z, S, and A on your keyboard. Start and Select are handled by the Enter and Shift keys.
Tips
- Keep King Arthur protected at all times; if he falls in battle, the level is instantly lost.
- Make good use of your engineers to build bridges and dismantle traps, as brute force is rarely enough to break through enemy defenses.
