Roc N Rope is a classic 1983 arcade platformer developed by Konami. Players take on the role of an intrepid archaeologist equipped with a harpoon gun, scaling vertical levels to reach a mythical Phoenix at the top. How to Play
Your objective is to reach the Phoenix at the highest platform of each level. Use the harpoon gun to shoot ropes diagonally upwards at ledges, then climb them to ascend. You are armed with a flashlight that can temporarily blind and stun enemies, giving you time to escape or climb past them.
For Arcade controls in the browser, press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start. Move left and right with the arrow keys, press Z to fire your harpoon, and press X to use your flashlight.
Tips
- Your flashlight has a very short range. Wait until an enemy is close before using it, then quickly move past while they are stunned.
- You are vulnerable while climbing ropes. Make sure the landing platform and the rope itself are clear of enemies before committing to a climb.
- Stunned enemies can be safely passed through, but be mindful of the stun timer wearing off if you linger too long.
