RoboCop vs. The Terminator is an action-platformer released for the Game Boy in 1994. Developed by Unexpected Development and published by Virgin Interactive, this portable iteration of the famous crossover pits Detroit’s cyborg enforcer against the time-traveling forces of Skynet. You navigate through futuristic, hazard-filled environments, trading fire with street thugs and cybernetic machines as you fight to save humanity from a dark future.
How to Play
The objective is to clear each level by eliminating enemies and surviving until you reach the end. Because this is a browser-based emulation of the original Game Boy cartridge, the controls map directly to your keyboard.
- Movement: Use the Arrow Keys (mapped to the D-pad) to walk and duck.
- Jump: Press Z (mapped to the A button).
- Shoot: Press X (mapped to the B button).
- Start/Select: Press Enter and Shift to pause or select options.
Tips
- Mind your firing arcs: You can only shoot straight ahead or at a 45-degree upward angle. You cannot shoot directly above or below you, so position yourself carefully on platforms before engaging enemies.
- Sometimes it is better to run: RoboCop moves deliberately and combat can be slow-paced. Since minor enemies often respawn, it is sometimes safer to absorb a hit and keep moving rather than stopping to fight every single opponent.
- The 10-jump cheat: If you find yourself stuck, hold B + Select (X + Shift) and press A (Z) to jump 10 times in a row, letting RoboCop fully land each time. This activates a hidden cheat menu.
