Developed by Virgin Games in 1993, RoboCop Versus the Terminator is a gritty action-shooter for the Sega Genesis based on the comic book crossover. Playing as RoboCop, you must blast your way through the streets of Detroit, OCP facilities, and ultimately the grim future of Skynet. Known for its intense run-and-gun gameplay, heavy arsenal, and unabashedly bloody combat, it stands out as one of the most memorable 16-bit action platformers.
How to play
Your goal is to survive waves of cyborgs, drones, and mercenaries to dismantle Skynet. Use the arrow keys to move, climb, and aim your gun in multiple directions. Press X to jump, Z to fire, and S to swap between your two active weapon slots. Press Enter to start or pause the action.
Tips
- Use the environment: You can shoot while climbing ladders and hanging from pipes. Use this to clear enemies from above or below before moving into their line of sight.
- Hunt for secret areas: The levels are packed with hidden paths, false walls, and invisible platforms that hide extra lives, health power-ups, and heavy weapons like the plasma rifle.
- Manage your arsenal: You can carry two weapons at once. Keep the standard pistol with infinite ammo for weaker enemies, and save your limited heavy firepower for bosses and Terminators.
