Road Rash 3 is a 1995 motorcycle combat racing game developed and published by Electronic Arts for the Sega Genesis. As the final entry in the 16-bit trilogy, it shifts to digitized sprites and introduces an expanded arsenal of weaponsโincluding crowbars, nunchaku, and cattle prodsโthat you can keep between races. The illegal street racing formula also goes global, taking you across tracks in the UK, Japan, Italy, Brazil, and more.
How to play
The objective is to qualify in each race by finishing in the top three while surviving traffic, cops, and aggressive rival racers. Prize money earned from races is used to upgrade your motorcycle’s parts or purchase faster bikes. The browser maps the original Genesis controls as follows:
- Accelerate: S
- Brake: Arrow Down
- Steer: Arrow Left / Arrow Right
- Punch / Use Weapon: X
- Kick: Z
- Start / Pause: Enter
Tips
- Steal weapons: You can disarm opponents and take their weapon. Pull up next to a rival, wait for them to raise their weapon to swing, and press Punch (X) at the right moment to snatch it.
- Avoid getting busted: Getting knocked off your bike near a police officer will result in a hefty fine. If you crash, run back to your bike quickly, or focus on knocking the cops off their bikes before they can wreck yours.
- Use the environment: Kicks (Z) push opponents sideways. Use this to shove rival racers into oncoming traffic, road signs, or animals to take them out of the race without a drawn-out fight.
