Game description:

Ring ni Kakero is a boxing game released in 1998 for the Super Famicom, distributed exclusively through Japan's Nintendo Power cartridge rewriting service. Based on the classic sports manga by Masami Kurumada, the game lets players step into the ring as Ryuji Takane and execute his signature over-the-top special moves.

How to play
Like many arcade-style boxing games, the objective is to deplete your opponent's stamina and score knockouts before the time runs out. The SNES controls use the D-pad for movement, allowing you to sidestep and dodge incoming attacks. The face buttons are used for throwing left and right punches, as well as unleashing powerful special moves once your energy gauge is full.

Tips

  • Timing your dodges is crucial; wait for the opponent to commit to a punch before stepping out of the way and countering.
  • Save your special attacks for moments when the opponent is vulnerable, as missed specials can leave you wide open.
