This 1987 Sega action shooter drops you into the cockpit of an F-14 Tomcat for intense, high-speed dogfights. Originally a smash hit in the arcades, the DOS port of After Burner II brings its blistering scaling graphics and relentless waves of enemy aircraft to the PC.
How to play
Your objective is to survive increasingly difficult stages by destroying enemy planes while dodging incoming fire. You are armed with a rapid-fire machine gun and a limited payload of lock-on missiles. Move to avoid enemy fire, and lock your targeting reticle over incoming fighters to launch missiles.

Tips
- Keep moving: Never stay in the center of the screen for long. Constant movement is your best defense against enemy fire.
- Conserve missiles: Your homing missiles are limited and essential for taking out large groups of enemies quickly. Save them for when you are overwhelmed.
- Watch the warning: Pay close attention to the “FIRE” warning on the screen, which signals an incoming enemy missile. When you see it, break away immediately.
