Revolution X is a relentless 1996 rail shooter for the PlayStation that pits you against the New Order Nation (NON), a totalitarian regime that has declared war on youth culture and banned all music. Armed with a machine gun and explosive CDs, your mission is to blast your way through NON forces and rescue the members of Aerosmith. Originally a hit Midway arcade game, this console port brings the digitized graphics, heavy soundtrack, and non-stop shooting action straight to your browser.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive each on-rails stage by shooting down NON soldiers, helicopters, and heavily armed bosses before they deplete your health. You must also find and rescue the captive Aerosmith band members hidden throughout the levels. The game is played with standard PlayStation controls mapped to your keyboard: use the Arrow Keys to move your crosshair, and your action keys (typically mapped to Z, X, A, and S) to fire your machine gun and launch explosive CDs. Press Enter to start or pause.
Tips
- Shoot everything: Many background objects hide power-ups, extra CDs, and health-restoring shakes. If it looks destructible, shoot it.
- Save your CDs for bosses: While it is tempting to use CDs on crowds of soldiers, they deal massive damage and are best reserved for tough enemy vehicles and stage bosses.
- Find the band members: Rescuing Aerosmith members is required to unlock the true ending and access secret paths. Listen for their voices to locate them.
