Radical Radial is a 1982 top-down arcade shooter developed by Logitec and published by Nichibutsu. You take control of an anthropomorphic tire, navigating dangerous forward-scrolling courses filled with obstacles and alien enemies. The game combines traditional shooting mechanics with the ability to jump and alter your speed to survive.
How to Play
The objective is to survive the treacherous course and reach the end of each stage. You must shoot down enemy vehicles and aliens while timing your jumps to clear gaps and rocks. In the browser, the standard arcade controls are mapped to the Arrow Keys for movement and acceleration, with Z and X used for firing your weapon and jumping. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Your speed directly impacts your jumping distance; accelerate before a jump if you need to clear a wide gap.
- Prioritize shooting enemies in your immediate path, as avoiding them by moving sideways can often push you off the track or into other hazards.
