Radical Radial is a 1982 arcade action game developed by Logitec and published by Nichibutsu, released in North America in June 1982 and in Japan that October â this page covers the Japanese release. You control an anthropomorphic wheel racing along tight, obstacle-filled courses, drawing inspiration from Irem’s Moto-Race USA: dodge invincible enemy vehicles, jump over walls and gaps, and blast alien attackers with a limited supply of ammunition on the way to the goal.
How to Play
Reach the end of each course while avoiding enemy vehicles and alien fire. In the browser, use the Left/Right arrow keys to shift your wheel across the course and Up/Down to speed up or slow down, Z to jump obstacles, and X to shoot. Press Shift to insert a coin and Enter to start.
Tips
- Slow down before you land: enemy vehicles can move underneath you mid-jump to sabotage your landing spot, so ease off the speed near them instead of jumping in blind.
- Save your shots for aliens, not obstacles: walls and gaps need to be jumped or steered around, not shot, so don’t waste ammunition on terrain.
