Game description:

Rack ‘Em Up is a classic top-down pool simulation released for the Arcade by Konami in 1987. Also known as The Hustler in some regions, the game challenges players to clear the table in variations like 9-ball and straight pool. Players must carefully aim their shots, control the power meter, and position the cue ball to sink every ball before time or fouls end their run.

How to Play

The objective is to clear the billiard table by pocketing the balls in the correct order depending on the game mode. For the browser-based Arcade version, use your keyboard’s arrow keys (or the on-screen D-pad) to aim your shot. Press and hold the primary action button (usually Z or X) to set the power of your shot on the meter, and release it to strike the cue ball. You can also adjust the striking point on the cue ball to apply spin.

Tips

  • Watch the Power Meter: Full power isn’t always the best choice. For close shots, use a lighter touch to maintain better control over where the cue ball stops.
  • Use Spin: Applying English (spin) to the cue ball is essential for setting up your next shot, allowing you to bounce off cushions at specific angles.
  • Plan Ahead: Always keep an eye on the position of the next ball in the sequence so you can leave the cue ball in a favorable spot.
