Developed by Video System and released in North American arcades by Bally Midway in 1987, Rabbit Punch (originally known as Rabio Lepus in Japan) is a horizontal-scrolling shoot ’em up with a unique twist. You pilot a flying robotic rabbit armed with standard projectiles, but true to the game’s title, you can also deliver short-range punches to deal heavy damage to enemies or crack open power-ups.
How to Play
Use the directional controls to navigate your robotic rabbit through the side-scrolling stages. You have two main attacks: a rapid-fire laser and a limited supply of homing missiles. When you get close to enemies or floating carrot canisters, use your punch attack to smash them. Break open the carrots to collect valuable power-ups and weapon upgrades to help you survive the mechanical army.
Tips
- Don’t neglect your punch attack; it is highly effective for dealing with enemies that get too close and is essential for collecting items from carrot canisters.
- Save your homing missiles for tougher enemies or overwhelming situations, as your ammo supply is limited.
