Game description:

Puzz Loop is a marble-shooter puzzle game developed by Mitchell Corporation for arcades in 1998, running on the Kaneko Super Nova System. This “Asia” release is a regional MAME variant of the same game. A chain of colored marbles winds along a spiral track toward a goal at the center of the screen, and the player controls a rotating cannon in the middle that fires matching-colored marbles into the chain. Puzz Loop predates and directly inspired the later, better-known Zuma.

How to Play

Aim and fire marbles into the oncoming chain to slot them next to marbles of the same color. Landing three or more of the same color together clears them from the chain, and clearing a segment shortens the line before it reaches the goal at the center. If the chain reaches the goal, the game ends, so keeping the line short is the whole challenge. Up to two players can play, taking alternating turns.

  • Arrow Keys — rotate the cannon to aim
  • Z — fire the loaded marble
  • Shift — insert coin
  • Enter — start

Tips

  • Chain reactions score far more than single matches, so hold a shot for a moment if firing it will trigger a bigger collapse rather than just adding one marble.
  • Clearing marbles near the front of the chain buys the most time, since it removes length closest to the goal line.
  • Watch the “next” marble indicator so you’re already lining up your second shot while the first is still traveling.
