Puyo Puyo Sun – Ketteiban is the definitive PlayStation version of Compile’s competitive puzzle game, marking the third main installment in the classic series. It takes the beloved falling-blob gameplay and introduces the “Sun Puyo” mechanic—special pieces that drop when countering chains and send extra garbage to your opponent when cleared alongside standard Puyos.

How to Play

The objective is to defeat your opponent by filling their board with garbage Puyos until their middle column reaches the top. You match four or more Puyos of the same color to pop them. The default PlayStation controls map the D-pad to move the pieces left and right, and the face buttons to rotate them. In the browser emulator, use the Arrow Keys for movement and Z/X to rotate.

Tips

• Use Sun Puyos Strategically: Since clearing Sun Puyos sends a massive amount of garbage to your opponent, wait to incorporate them into a larger chain rather than popping them individually.
• Learn the “Stairs” Pattern: A basic strategy for building chains is to stack Puyos in a staircase pattern, making it easier to trigger a long sequence of drops with a single match.
