Game description:

Puyo Puyo Sun 64 (Japan) is the vibrant third installment in Compile’s classic puzzle series, released for the Nintendo 64 in 1997. The core Puyo popping action returns with a major twist: the Sun Puyo mechanic. As you clear chains, Sun Puyos drop from above, giving you the power to send devastating amounts of garbage to your opponent if cleared correctly. This entry features a charming cast of characters, a fully voiced story mode, and the frantic competitive multiplayer that the series is known for.

How to Play

The objective is to defeat your opponent by filling their board with garbage Puyos. Match four or more Puyos of the same color to clear them. Default Nintendo 64 browser controls map the D-pad or analog stick to the arrow keys for movement, while X and C (A and B buttons) rotate your pieces. Press Enter for Start.

Tips

  • Build chains early: Don’t just clear Puyos as soon as they drop. Set up overlapping colors to trigger massive chain reactions.
  • Utilize Sun Puyos: Sun Puyos can drastically multiply your garbage output. Try to incorporate them into your larger chains rather than popping them by themselves.
  • Watch your opponent: Keep an eye on your rival’s board. If they are building a large chain, try to fire off a quick combo to drop garbage and disrupt their setup.
