Developed by Compile and released for the NES in 1993, Puyo Puyo is the classic competitive puzzle game that sparked a legendary franchise. In this addictive falling-block title, players must think fast and strategize to keep their board clear while battling against increasingly difficult opponents.
How to Play
The objective is to match four or more Puyos of the same color to clear them from the board. Connecting multiple matches in a sequence creates chain reactions, which send nuisance garbage to your opponent’s screen. Use the Arrow Keys to move and drop the falling pieces, Z and X to rotate them, and Enter to start the game.
Tips
- Build Chains: Instead of clearing Puyos immediately, stack them so that when one group pops, the pieces above fall into place to create an automatic second match.
- Watch the Queue: Keep an eye on the upcoming pieces shown on the side of the screen to plan your next moves and avoid getting trapped.
