Prehistoric Isle In 1930 Korea is the Korean arcade release of SNK’s 1989 horizontally scrolling shooter, distributed under license by Victor for the Korean market. Internally titled Wonsido 1930’s, it is the same game as the international “World” version at its core: piloting a biplane, you are sent to investigate a mysterious island where earlier expeditions have vanished, only to find it overrun by dinosaurs and other prehistoric threats.
How to Play
Your objective is to survive the island’s stages and defeat the boss creature waiting at the end of each one. For this arcade title in your browser, press Shift (or 5) to insert a coin and Enter (or 1) to start. Use the Arrow keys to steer your biplane, Z to fire your forward machine gun, and X to rotate your secondary weapon pod around the plane.
Tips
- The rotating pod changes its attack depending on where it sits: directly in front it becomes a flame cannon, diagonally below it drops bombs, and above or below it fires bouncing energy shots â reposition it to match whatever is threatening you.
- Dinosaurs and flying enemies often rush in from multiple angles at once; keep the pod aimed at your most immediate threat rather than leaving it fixed in one spot.
- Stages narrow into caves and cliffs later on â watch the scrolling edge of the screen as much as the enemies, since it can crush you just as easily as an enemy hit.
