🎮 Play Pocket Sonar (Japan) Online (Game Boy)

Released in Japan in 1998 by Bandai and Honda Electronics, Pocket Sonar is one of the most unusual utility cartridges for the Game Boy. Originally bundled with a physical transducer that turned the handheld into a real, working fish finder, the software also features standalone content. While the physical sonar functionality cannot be used in a browser, you can still explore its built-in digital fish encyclopedia and play the dedicated fishing minigame.

How to play

From the main menu, you can study different fish species in the database or start the fishing minigame, where the goal is to hook a fish and carefully manage tension to reel it in without snapping the line. The emulator uses standard Game Boy controls: the Arrow Keys (D-pad) to navigate menus and move your line, Z (A button) to confirm choices or reel in your catch, X (B button) to cancel, and Enter (Start) to pause.
