Game description:

Plotting (World Set 1), also known in Japan as Flipull, is a tile-matching arcade puzzle game released by Taito in 1989. In this fast-paced puzzler, you must clear a grid of colorful patterned blocks by shooting a matching block into the stack, aiming to reduce the total number of blocks below a target threshold before the timer expires.

How to Play

You control a character on the side of the screen who can move up and down to line up a shot. When you fire your block into the grid, it will destroy all connected blocks of the same pattern it touches. Crucially, the block you shot will then be swapped with the block that was directly adjacent to the destroyed ones, bouncing back to become your new ammo. To play in the browser, use the Arrow Keys to move, Z, X, or Space to shoot, 5 or Shift to insert a coin, and 1 or Enter to start.

Tips

  • Plan your shots carefully: always consider which block you will receive back after a match, as taking a block you cannot use on your next turn will break your chain and lose time.
  • If you find yourself stuck with a block that does not match any exposed blocks on the grid, you can use one of your limited special wild blocks (marked with an “S”) to eliminate any target block and clear a path.
  • Use ricochet shots against uneven ceilings or pipes to hit blocks from above when a direct horizontal shot is blocked.
